3D
Text Tutorial
This tutorial
is for Jasc Paintshop Pro. (Screencaps are from PSP8, but it also works in
PSP7)
For this tutorial,
we're going to create a bit of 3D text, like this:

Now, it's easier
than it looks! First, we'll start with a basic background, I used this:

Then, using the
text tool ( ), write
whatever you want. I used the Harry Potter font, with the colour set on an
orangey gold colour (#FFA201), with a black (#000000) stroke set at 1 pixel.
It should look a little something like this:

Now, you need
to convert the image to a Raster layer. You do this by right clicking on the
text (Vector) layer, and clicking "Convert to Raster Layer":

Next, you need
to use a bevelling effect on the text layer. Make sure you have the text layer
selected, then go to the effects menu, and select 'Inner Bevel':

Another window
will pop up. It will have options like this:

Now, you can
play around with these options if you like. I've selected the options that
look best for the font I was working with; it varies, of course, so experimentation
is good! When you're done, click OK! It should look like this:
You can of course
use some other effects. If you want to difference it for example, or screen,
or overlay it, it's up to you. You can find out how to do those effects in
the Colour Effects tutorial. You
can also adjust the transparency, if you wish. Remember - experiementation
can result in finding out beautiful effects, so do it as much as you can!
